Call for Papers - CSMR 2007
11th European Conference onSoftware Maintenance and Reengineering
“Software Evolution in Complex Software Intensive Systems”
March 21-23, 2007
Amsterdam, the Netherlands
http://www.cs.vu.nl/csmr2007/
One of the basic intentions of this conference is to offer a European forum for discussion and exchange of experiences among researchers and practitioners both from academia and industrial world. We invite people from industry, industrial research and academia to submit papers or experience reports. This conference is not limited to European participants. Authors from outside Europe are also welcomed.
Software Evolution in Complex Software Intensive Systems
The main theme of 11th year conference is “Software Evolution in Complex Software Intensive Systems”. Software Maintenance becomes a burden when not explicitly dealt with during development of large complex systems. In most systems software grows relatively (to e.g. hardware size) as well as absolutely (during the time: software grows and grows). For most systems, an expert will guess that the system could also have been constructed with factors (2-10) less lines of code. How can we get software development under control? Software Architecture plays a main role in this, but related to that strategies to introduce improvements gradually (while the "shop is open"). Dedicated topics of interest include, but are not restricted to:- software architecture evolution
- software migration strategies and technologies
- software quality systems
- software metrics and maintenance and reengineering tools
- maintenance and reengineering metrics and economics
- experience reports on maintenance and reengineering
- system assessment for reengineering or maintenance
Submissions
Two types of submissions will be accepted: full length papers (not exceeding 4000 words in length and including a 150-200 word abstract) and short papers (not exceeding 2000 words in length and including a 75-100 word abstract). The official language is English. Authors are requested to submit electronically a PostScript or PDF version of their papers. IEEE Computer Society Press will publish the CSMR 2007 Proceedings.Full papers exceeding 10 pages (4 pages for short papers) will be charged for pages in excess. Authors of accepted papers must sign the IEEE copyright form. At least one author of each accepted submission must register and present the paper at the conference. The Program Committee will select the best paper of the conference and a prize will be awarded for the winner during a formal presentation at CSMR 2007.
