Introduction

Streamline is an operating system I/O subsystem that minimizes copying and context switching by using large shared ring-buffers for transport and by relocating I/O operations to the most suitable hardware and software environment. Streamline supports in-kernel execution, but also automatic offloading to co-processors, peripheral devices and even remote machines. More...

Streamline is practical software. We maintain an open-source implementation for recent versions of Linux that can be downloaded from this site.
