The Stieltjes Analysis Colloquium is one of the activities of the analysis groups in the Thomas Stieltjes Institute for Mathematics. This year it is organised by Joost Hulshof and Andre Ran at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. The first session will be on April 8th, in Room S111 of the Science Building (De Boelelaan 1081, see the picture below)

Wednesday April 10, Thursday April 11, Monday April 15, Wednesday April 17: Lecture series `Stability and invariant manifolds in fully nonlinear parabolic problems', Alessandra Lunardi

Alessandra Lunardi is visiting the Vrije Universiteit for a period of two weeks. She will give a course on "Stability and invariant manifolds in fully nonlinear parabolic problems". On Wednesday the lectures times are 15.30-17.30. The other lecture times are 15.00-17.00. The lecture rooms are S201, S203, S203 and S201.

Abstract: I will treat some topics in geometric theory of fully nonlinear parabolic problems. In particular, the study of stability/instability of established solutions will be developed with the construction of stable, unstable, and center manifolds when possible. A number of applications to free boundary evolution problems will be given.
