To the campus

The VU Campus is situated in the southern part of Amsterdam, at a point where motorways and public transport facilities converge. It can be easily reached both by car and public transport: it is situated next to the A10 (the belt highway around Amsterdam) and can be reached in a 10 minutes' walk from the railway station Amsterdam WTC. The express tram takes 20 minutes to bring you from the VU Campus to the very centre of Amsterdam. The international airport is only 10 kilometers away.

Public transport

From Centraal Station
  • express tram 51 (16 minutes), in the underground station
  • tram 5 (25 minutes), on the station square

    • alight: at the tram stop VU
From Station Zuid/WTC
  • express tram 51 (direction Amstelveen, 1 stop), alight: at the tram stop VU
  • tram 5 (direction Amstelveen, 1 stop), alight: at the tram stop VU
  • It is a 10 minute walk to the VU from Station Zuid/WTC

Car

The A-10 Amsterdam ring road can be reached from all directions. Follow the A-10 to the Zuid/Amstelveen exit S 108. Turn left at the end of the sliproad onto Amstelveenseweg: after about three hundred yards (at the VU Hospital building) turn left again onto De Boelelaan. the turn right into van der Boechorststraat, then left into A.J.Ernststraat where you can park your car. The VU can be reached via city routes S 108 and S 109.

Parking.
There are only paid parking lots around the VU campus. The best chances to find available spaces are in A.J.Ernststraat (see campus map.)

Schiphol Airport

Travellers arriving at Schiphol can take the train to Station Zuid/ WTC (see 'Public transport: from Station Zuid/WTC').

To the meeting room

  • (In the following we assume you have the campus map handy.)
  • Once at the campus, you follow the red arrows from the tram station (top left corner of the map). alongside building 1. You enter the campus from Buitenveldertselaan, pass in between buildings 2 and 3, walk around building 5, and enter building 6, at entrance 1085.
  • (You do NOT need to register with the door keeper.)
  • In the building, you take the stairs (or the elevator) one floor up.
  • In floor number 1, you follow the sign A t/m F vleugel. This leads you to the wings A to F.
  • You should be within wing F right away. Turn right, look for Room F1.23.
