Welcome to my home page!
Short biography
I'm a professor in Applied Probability.
My research is centered around the control of queueing systems, and applications of
that in various areas, such as telecom, contact centers and health care.
I'm (co-)author of more than 60 research papers.
I serve as associate editor of Management Science and Operations Research Letters.
Next to my academic work I founded (together with PhD student Auke Pot) a call center optimization company, I'm involved in a start-up that focuses on web page lay-out and advertisement optimization, and I work one day a week at the VU medical center on health care logistics.
