Workshop Goals

The objective of the workshop is to bring together researchers from the Semantic Web field and cultural heritage professionals to discuss the digitalization, annotation, archiving, and retrieval of our cultural heritage in all its forms, and to present, in the form of practical applications, cultural services available to citizens and professional users. In addition to textual representations, cultural content can be digitalized and saved in visual and auditive format. This calls for discussion on intelligent multimedia indexing and retrieval. Since culture is international in nature, research, applications, and directions for international co-operation are a focus area of the workshop.
