Lora Aroyo, VU University Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Lora Aroyo is currently working in several cultural heritage and personalized ambient experience projects, e.g. CHIP, CHOICE, MultimedianN eCulture and ITEA Passepartout projects. Her research focus is in applying Semantic Web technologies for personalized information access and presentation of digital collections, and evaluation of interactive information systems. Lora has participated in various workshops in the context of Semantic Web, Pesonalization, E-learning and e-culture. She is also co-organized of the workshop series SW-EL, as well as workshops for personalization on the Semantic Web and for interactive TV. http://www.cs.vu.nl/~laroyo/

Tsvi Kuflik, Haifa University, Israel.

Tsvi Kuflik has been at the University of Haifa, Israel since 2004 and prior to this he has been with ITC-irst, since 2003, working on user modeling in "Active Museum". At the University of Haifa, Tsvi works on various research aspects related to "Active Museum", such as User Modeling, Intelligent User Interfaces, Context Awareness, Content Preparation and Multi Agents Software Engineering (in this work Tsvi combines together recent research interests with 20 years of experience in software and system engineering). This work is done in the framework of the collaboration between the University of Haifa (Israel) and FBK-irst (Trento, Italy), where research results and know-how are transferred from FBK-irst to Haifa and extended with local research. Tsvi?s research interests include user modeling, information filtering and retrieval, machine learning applications, decision support systems and software engineering.

Oliviero Stock, FBK-irst, Italy.

Oliviero Stock has been at ITC-irst (now FBK-irst) since 1988 and has been its Director from 1997 to 2001. His activity is mainly in artificial intelligence, natural language processing, intelligent user interfaces, and cognitive technologies. He is the author of over hundred and seventy published papers and author or editor of twelve volumes, and member of the editorial board of a dozen scientific journals. He has been Chairman of the European Coordinating Committee for Artificial Intelligence, President of the Association for Computational Linguistics and of the Italian AI Association and is an ECCAI Fellow and a AAAI Fellow. He has worked on intelligent interfaces for cultural heritage appreciation for nearly two decades. OS has been the coordinator of PEACH and currently co-ordinates the ITCirst-University of Haifa Collaboration Project.

Massimo Zancanaro, FBK-irst, Italy.

Massimo Zancanaro primary research interest is in the field of Intelligent Interfaces and in particular language-based interfaces. During the last few years, he has specialized in the application of IT in the domain of cultural heritage with a particular focus the design issues related to mobile audio-based hypermedia. He is currently involved in a bilateral Italian-Israeli project funded by the Italian Foreign Ministery aimed at investigating novel approaches for cultural heritage appreciation. In this context, Massimo collaborate with the Haifa-based PIL (PEACH-Israel) project for personalized multimedia presentations for museum guides.
