What is ascii art?

Ascii art is the art of making pictures with ascii characters. I started again a while ago and ever since I could not stop! I make ascii pictures by looking at a picture of the original. I then make my ascii interpretation of the picture.

On this page I will put my own ascii art. If you like my ascii pictures, you may use them on your site, as e-mail signature et cetera. The only thing I ask from you is to add a link to the picture, which points to this page: http://www.cs.vu.nl/~svbhikha/misc/ascii-art-en.php.

I am willing to do requests; depending on the complexity of the original picture and my available time I shall do or reject requests. For requests send me an e-mail (with the picture if possible) to: jakerockwell@hotmail.com. For fast handling of your e-mail, please put in "ascii art" in the subject field of the e-mail.

Formatting information

My ascii art is made in Windows Notepad with the font "Lucida Console". With another font it may look some what different. With the font "Courier New" it also looks quite nice.
