Cum Laude for Han van der Aa
On Friday January 26 Han van der Aa successfully defended his PhD Thesis entitled “Comparing and Aligning Process Representations” and was awarded the cum laude distinction. Under supervision of his promotor Hajo Reijers and co-promotor Henrik Leopold, Han’s PhD research strived to increase the quality and availability of information on an organization’s business processes. The algorithmic approaches developed for this purpose combine machine learning, most notably natural language processing techniques, with dedicated process analysis techniques, such as those from the area of process mining. Next, Han will join the Humboldt University in Berlin in May on a two-year postdoctoral fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
