When I am in the Netherlands, you will find me one day each week at the:
Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VUA),
Faculty of Sciences, Dept. Computer Science, De Boelelaan 1081 A, 1081 HV Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
My main job in the Netherlands is supervision of PhD students at:
Open University Netherlands (OUN),
School of Computer Science, Heerlen, the Netherlands;
and at:
University Twente (UT), Enschede, the Netherlands, Faculty Computer Science, Department Human-Media Interaction.
I am Visiting Professor and teach various Interaction Design courses, Visual Design, Service Design, Human Information Processing, and Design for Cultural Heritage,
at the
Sino European Usability Center, Dalian Maritime University, China;
and at:
Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, Department of Multimedia and Animation, Liaoning, China.
Current and Past Positions
Former President (2009-2015) of ACM SIGCHI;
Former President of the European Association of Cognitive Ergonomics (EACE);
Representative of
ACM
to
IFIP;
Honorary Member of Chi Nederland, who made me
Godfather of the annual
Gerrit van der Veer Prijs for best Master thesis on Human
Computer Interaction.
